Abstract | ||
The current study aimed to: -Building a measure of mental wandering among female basketball club players in the junior category in Iraq. The researchers used the descriptive survey method for its suitability and the nature of the research problem, and the research community consisted of female basketball players, academies, and schools in Iraq, according to the classification of the Iraqi Central Basketball Association, for the sports season (2022-2023) according to the records of the sports teams of clubs in Iraq. Providing the researchers with the number of clubs that include female basketball players in the youth category in Iraq, (270) players, and after excluding (60) players from the research community, due to the lack of cooperation of the training staff of Zima Organization with the researchers, Thus, the total community reached (210) players, the building sample consisted of (120) players, who constituted (57%) of the total research community and were chosen randomly, on which statistical analysis was conducted, while the stability sample consisted of (30) players representing a percentage of (14%), and the number of the sample on which the exploratory experiments were conducted was (34) female players, as the number of the sample on which the open-ended questionnaire was distributed was (10) female players and (8) female players for each of the exploratory experiments for the scale, offensive skills, and the program, respectively. And (9) female players were excluded for not following the conditions for answering the paragraphs of the scale. The sample of the application consisted of (17) female players who were chosen by the deliberate method (12) female players for experimentation (5) who were excluded due to (2) female players obtaining a score less than the hypothetical average of the scale and (3) Female players for exceeding the legal age for the junior category, which ranges from (14-16) years, of whom are under (14) years old, and among them who are more than (16) years old, were excluded. In order to obtain data related to the research objectives, the two researchers had to carry out the scientific specifications of the validity, stability and objectivity of the current research tool (mental wandering scale), where the researchers used types of validity, including (content validity, virtual validity, construction validity, hypothetical composition validity, The statistical analysis of the data was also conducted in two ways, namely: first: the method of the two extreme groups, and second: the method of the internal consistency coefficient for the purpose of measuring the validity of the scale, and then the researchers conducted a complement to the procedures for building the scale, which is to find the stability coefficient using two methods, first: the method of segmentation (Half - Split Method) using the (odd and even) paragraphs method, as (30) questionnaires were corrected in a random way, after the undistinguished paragraphs were deleted from the construction sample, and the simple correlation coefficient was used between the scores of the two halves of the scale, so a value (t) equal to (0.75) In order to obtain an unbiased estimate of the stability of the entire scale, the (Spearman Brown) coefficient was used for correction, as the value of the total stability coefficient for the mental wandering scale was (0.86), and this indicates that the scale has a high reliability coefficient, and the second method is the Vakronbach method In this way, the stability coefficient was (0.75), which is a relatively high stability coefficient and an indicator of the consistency and homogeneity of the paragraphs . The standard error of the scale was (0.799), after which a scale consisting of (44) items was reached and distributed on two dimensions: (mental wandering related to the topic) consisting of (27) items and (mental wandering not related to the topic) consisting of (17) items. The total score for the scale ranged between (44-132) with a hypothetical mean of (88) for the scale as a whole and between (27-81) for the first dimension with a hypothetical mean of (54), and between (17-51) for the second dimension with a hypothetical mean of (34), after which it was confirmed From the validity of the translation of the scale into the Kurdish language (Sorani and Badian), the researchers used the statistical methods measured in the (SPSS) system to obtain the research data, which included (the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, test (T) for two independent samples, Pearson correlation coefficient, coefficient Spearman-Brown for correction, percentage, Cronbach's alpha coefficient), and some conclusions and recommendations were reached as follows | ||
