| What distinguishes basketball is its dependence on mental capacity and physical abilities and here lies the importance of research in the identification of achievement and self-confidence and their relationship on the of skill accurate scoring of free there of the Basra University basketball players for the sports season (2012 -2013). The research problem was related to the importance of mental factors in basketball players in addition to the physical and skill factors and their role in the integration of building and preparation of the player to be eligible to achieve the results. The researcher made use of a statistically significant relationship between physical achievement motivation and self-confidence and accuracy of scoring of the free throw in basketball of the research sample. The researcher used the descriptive method due to its suitability to the problem. Baadagrae tests were the statistical data of processing. The researcher has realized important results ; is there a of significant correlation between test of achievement motivation of the athlete and testing the accuracy of the scoring of the free throw in the basket ; significant correlation between physical ability test of self-confidence and accuracy of the scoring in the free throw basketball. One of the most important recommendations is the need for attention to the application of psychological tests and skills to define the level of progress in this respect . | ||
