Abstract | ||
The study aimed to: - Identify the level of sedentary behavior - Identifying the relationship between sedentary behavior and academic achievement The researchers used the descriptive method in both its survey and correlation styles due to their suitability and the nature of the research, while the research community was identified by the Creativity High School students for boys in the city of Mosul for the academic year (2022-2023), whose number is (263) students, while the research sample consisted of (64) students from the fourth-grade Middle school students, and they represent approximately (24%) of the research community. The sample of stability included (30) students, while the sample of the exploratory experiment for the questionnaire included (10) students from the research community. The two researchers used the questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The two researchers adopted the (Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children) (PAQ-C) (sedentary Behavior) by (Kowalski et al., 2004) which was translated to Arabic by (Mohamed Sharif Serageldin et al., 2022). Then the researchers presented the questionnaire to experts To adapt it to be suitable for the environment of high school students in the city of Mosul. The statistical means were limited to (the arithmetic mean, the standard deviation, the simple correlation coefficient, the t-test for independent samples, and the percentage), which were calculated by the statistical program (SPSS) for the research. The researchers reached the following conclusions: There is no statistically significant relationship between sedentary behavior and academic achievement among fourth-grade high school students in the city of Mosul | ||
