Abstract In this paper a higher order finite strip formulation based on the auxiliary nodal line ( ANL ) technique for both free and forced vibration analysis of box - girder bridges is presented . The free vibration analysis has been performed using the subspace iteration method . The dynamic response of both stiffened plate and box girder bridge under moving vehicles is investigated . The vehicle is idealized as a single moving force . Four examples have been studied to show the good performance of the higher order finite strip with one ANL for free and forced vibration analysis of plate , stiffened plate and box - girder bridges . Guyan reduction ( mass reduction ) technique is adopted to eliminate the auxiliary nodal line parameters for both bending and in - plane actions . | ||
