In present work, it was evaluated the groundwater contamination of the Nukrat Alsalman area that locates south and western south Samawa city between longitude (44o 30’ 0”)-(44o 37’ 30”) and latitude (30o 25’ 0”)-(30o 32’ 30”).It forms a part of eastern edge of Southern Desert. The field monitoring was carried out during November 2010, through extensive field surveys covering entire study area. Groundwater samples (10 no.) were collected from various privet well distributed among the study area. The groundwater samples were analyzed for various physicochemical parameters like pH, TDS and heavy metals (Pb, Co, Cr, Cu, Zn, Fe, Cd). According to (WHO, 2003) standards the waters is unsuitable for human drinking at all and unsuitable due to high salinity and high contaminated with Zn and other trace and taxiant elements (Pb, Cr, Cd, Fe) which are attributed to lithology and fertilizer effects are using in this area. | ||
