The study area lies in the part between Haditha lake to the north and Razzaza lake to the south . Depending on the 1982 Bergsma equation and system, nine different basins, different in lengths, spaces, directions and other natural characteristics has been studied. Depending on prior morphometric studies of these basins to get the varying degrees of erosion between them and the reasons for it and its consequences . It appeared through the study that linear constructions, rocky outcrop, under ground water and the soil had an active role in the variation degrees of erosion in the study area, as the valleys of (Banat Al-Hassan and Zaghdan) recorded the highest erosion degree, because of the intensity of the process of erosion due to first : the small size of their basins , secondly: the large numbers of valleys , thirdly: the existence of linear structures and large cracks in , and fourthly: the presence of the rocky outcrop forming the Euphrates ( the middle Miocene ) with calcareous dolomatia , which is characterized by caress appearances which helped to increase the process of deposition within the valleys of these basins and the increase of the amount of sediment reaching the Euphrates River during the flood season. | ||
