Abstract | ||
The research aimed to identify the rice farmers' attitude in Al-Muthanna Governorate towards the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and determine the relationship between the farmers' attitudes according to some personal -Society, determining the differences levels between the attitude and some variable. The research community consist all rice farmers at Al-Muthanna Governorate who's covered by activities, training, and application of (SRI), their numbers reached to (2400) farmers in Rumatha, Warkaa, Majd and Najmi locations. Random proportionate sample (5%) was chosen, so as the sample size became (120) respondents. In order to achieve the objective of the research, a questionnaire form was prepared to collect data from respondents by personal interview method. To achieve the research aim, a fivefold scale has been used. The highest score on the scale was (142) degree, whereas, lesser score was (93) degree. The scale involved (32) items with average arithmetic (123.64), and the standard deviation (9.03). The result showed that the (67.5%) of respondents had favorable attitude towards the System of Rice Intensification (SRI), (20%) of respondents could not solidify their attitude, (12.5%) of respondents had unfavorable attitude. Result have shown significant differences in respondents attitude according to variables: education levels, family number, size of holdings, type of holdings, number of rice sowing years, agricultural information sources, and no significant differences in respondents attitude according to variables: Age, and agricultural extension activities participate. | ||
