Abstract | ||
The aim of this study is to identify attitude vegetables growers in some villages Dashtee Hewler, Erbil toward sustainable agriculture techniques and their relationship with some variables. Questionnaire was based on a personal interview to get the data from a random sample which was (58) farmers. This sample was (50%) of the total population (116growers) in 2013. This data has been classified and processed statistically using percentages and frequency distribution and weighted mean, the Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Spearman-Brown Formul, Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient. Search results showed the high proportion of respondents with vegetable growers neutral trend, also found that question (fruits resulting from the use of organic fertilizers are the best than using chemical fertilizer), which recorded the highest arithmetic mean (4.79), and the question (I hate using organic fertilizer and even if it is required purchased) which registered the lowest arithmetic mean (1.97). It is obvious that, there is a correlation moral positive between the attitude of vegetable growers towards the techniques of sustainable agriculture and age, however, there is a correlation moral negative between the attitude of vegetables growers about techniques for sustainable agriculture and educational level. On the other hand, there is no correlation between the attitude of growers vegetables about Sustainable farming techniques each of the following factors (number of family members, marital status, average income, participation in training courses, number of years of farm work, agricultural sources of information, place of birth, and occupation). | ||
