Abstract | ||
In order to investigate the influence of the terminal substitution on mesomorphism five compounds containing ester – Schiff base – chalcone as a central linkage and different terminal substitutions in one side of the molecules , were synthesized and their mesomorphic properties were studied . The mesomorphic properties of all the synthesized compounds have been characterized by differential scanning calorimetry ( DSC ) and polarizing optical microscopy (POM) attached with a Mettler hot stage .All compounds have been characterized by FTIR,1H-NMR, MS-Spectra spectroscopy . | ||
