An attempt to control this weed by two curculionoid weevils Neochetina eichhorniae and Neochetina bruchi were introduced from Egypt as biocontrol agents under striate sanitary measures. The study was conducted in the laboratories and mass-rearing rooms of the Biological Control Research Unit ,College of Agriculture–Baghdad University. Results indicated that one male and femal of N. bruchi can induced 4th degree of damage and can compeletly destroy one plant during 19 days while 10 days when 2 males and 2 females were used on one plant .
