Abstract | ||
Abstract The objective: the current research has aimed into appraising the adopted system of assessment the performance of teaching staff in Mosul University to identify the disadvantages of it, as well as presenting a suggested model to appraise the performance of teaching staff according to the philosophy of management by behavior and results. The methodology: the research has depended on two main methods such as: the descriptive approach in formulating the theoretical framework of the research, and the applied one that included a case study of the researched organization represented by Mosul University. The results: the research has reached several conclusions as the system of assessment the performance of teaching staff in the researched organization adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research and its subsidiaries of instructional organizations such as the institution of technical teaching and the research centers, indicating into its difficulty application subjectively, this is what the research has aimed to treat this regulatory problem. The recommendations: the research has made several recommendations such as the researched organization must adopt a suggested model based on functional description – the tasks and duties of the member of teaching staff- in addition to support its legality by issuing the law of university service, the valid under no. (23) in (2008) as a framework of it. The value of the research: this research is the first in presenting a suggested model to appraise the performance of teaching staff members according to contemporary philosophy management by behavior and results in the managerial thinking.
