Abstract | ||
The research aims to identify the higher characteristic mental processes and identify prevalent personality traits and the relationship between the higher characteristic psychological skills and prevalent personality traits among sports coaches at the University of Qadisiyah. The researcher used the descriptive approach of the survey study for suitability with the nature of the research. The sample was selected by dependent way representing sports coaches in Qadisiyah University for the academic year (2011-2012) totaling (25) coaches. The researcher used the higher mental processes scale designed by Stefan Bull and John Allinson ,Albinson and Christopher Chambrok shambrook (1996) to measure some of the mental aspects (psychological ) which is important to the performance of the athlete and this scale measures the six dimensions (the ability to visualization, the ability to focus attention, self-confidence, the ability to relax, the ability to cope with anxiety and motivation sporting achievement. It includes (124) phrases ; each dimension of the previous six dimensions clarified is represented by 4 phrases. Sports trainer answers hexagonal scale and Mohammad Hassan Allawi has prepared and rounded it .The second measure is a measure of prevalent personal characteristics which was classed by Dale at the University of Giessen in Germany by designing a microcosm of the list having the eight dimensions (56) phrases. Mohammad Hassan Allawi has prepared it in Arabic and the dimensions are (nervousness, Aggressiveness, Depressiveness, susceptibility to excitayility, sociability, calmness , control and stop) | ||
