| Abctract The economic as well as the environmental situation has experienced huge problems for many years and the reasons for those problems were the economic and political scenarios adopted by sequential political regimes in Iraq. Ranging from unaware and immature political policies to political decisions which dragged this country to wars that had clear negative impacts on the economic as well as the environmental reality in this country. In this research study, we will focus on the environmental situation and the challenges facing Iraq from the period 1980-2003 via a set of directions represented by developing the environmental work in Iraq and the environmental legislations and international treaties. Environmental challenges whether they are related to sustainability plans and manufacturing in Iraq or they are related to the wars Iraq has gone through. Then the consequences of those challenges such as environmental pollution, poverty, environmental dumping, and depletion of natural resource. The study concludes with a set of conclusions and recommendations. | ||
