Abstract | ||
There was no real educational system in Oman ,in Fact ,there were only some schools inside mosques and houses for male students only who were also very limited in un ber .Later ,the system developed and schools moved from mosques to houses rented for this purpose where the subjects of Quran ,Arabic ,history and geography were taught .The number of students also increased. The first regular school only appeared in 1935 during the rule of Saeed Bin Taymour under the name of Al-Saeedi School in Muscat .The school was of Special design and had rooms for the administration and the teachers and classes for the students .When Sultan Qaboos came to power in 23rd of July 1970,he promoted the policy of granting education for all the citizens .During the first year of his rule ,214 students were enrolled, a school for girls was opened and 650 girls joined it and other schools in Salala,Mirbat and Sadah were also opened .The educational scale completed to include all the stages i.e from primary,intermediate and secondary schools up to the institutes of male and female teacher training. | ||
