The research deals with one of the most important theories that explain rise of state . We tried to investigate the basis on which it was constructed i.e. the ethical motive . We highlighted rapidly the first part of Hobbes’s theory, which was using “power ” factor for establishing state . Social contract theory could be considered as a revolution against “theocratic theory ” , theory of “ holy right ” which represented top tyranny that time . In this research, we stressed on very important matter , that is social contract theory of Hobbes was based on ethical basis . That when people became fed up with fight and conflict in state of nature , they realized that war was an evil from which they should depart , then they contracted on giving up their rights and authorizing one person or more to administrate authority for spreading security and peace among them . Consequently , political life took the place of nature state through the contract , then it should be acted according to ethical virtues such as honesty , faithfulness , gratitude , tolerance and equity . There would be an equation agreed by all that it was people living without state authority might cause increasing non-ethical motives such as trying depriving people of their rights and dominating them . In addition , we stressed on that legislative construction of civil society resulted from rise of state through social contract which depended on the governor authority who was the sole legislator . After establishing state , nature laws would be civil laws dominated by the element of obligation although they distinguished by virtuous ethical values . consequently , there were two choices according to Hobbes : the anarchy in nature state or authoritarian to realize social entity characterizing by ethical values which could not be obtained except by state . | ||
