Abstract | ||
The ligand of 2,4– dinitro–2–amino hydrazo benzene (L) was prepared from the reaction of 2,4– dinitro phenyl hyrazene with ortho amino phenyl thiol in mole ratio1:1 and characterized by elemental analysis (C, H, N), IR, UV–Vis, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR . The complexes of bivalent (Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pd, Cd, Hg and Pb) ions and trivalent (Cr & Sb) ions were prepared and characterized too. The structural diagnosis was established by IR, UV–Visible spectrum, conductivities, atomic absorption and magnetic susceptibility. The complexes showed octahedral geometry around the metal ion with the (N, N, O) ligand coordinated in tridentate mode except Pd (II) complex showed trigonal bipyramidal. Dissuasion degree, Stability constant and Molar absorption (mol-1, lit, cm-1) were calculated for the complexes. for Co– complex was calculated .The study of biological activity of the ligand(L) and its complexes showed various activity toward staphyloccus aureus, E. coli bacteria. | ||
