Abstract | ||
A comparative physiological study was carried out on the salt tolerance of two plants species kidney bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) and cow pea ( Vigna sinensis L.) included the effect of salt concentrations (0 , 50 , 100 , 150 , 200) m Mol / L of sodium chloride (NaCl) on the percentages of water content , dry matter and some mineral ions ( Na+ , K+, Ca++ , Mg++ and Cl - ) on the shoot system of the two plant species . The results of the study were revealed that , the increase of salinity concentrations caused an increase on the percentages of dry matter and concentrations (Na+ , Mg++ and Cl-) , and a decrease on the percentages of water content and concentrations (K+ and Ca++) in the shoot system of the two plant species at all the salinity concentrations , and a clear significance differences were noticed . | ||
