Acceptable Range Of Wheat Cultivation Areas With High Seeds Class After Field Inspection At Al-Najaf Governorate | ||

Abstract | ||
Afield study was conducted in Wheat growing farmers areas at Al-Najaf Governorate who had contracted with seeds production companies to produce high seeds class (Foundation seeds, Registered seeds, and citified seeds) for Iba99, Tammoz2, Latefiya, and Rasheed varieties during 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 seasons, respectively. The objectives were to determine the acceptable or unacceptable Wheat Varieties in cultivated areas with high seeds class after field inspection from State Board of Seed Test and Certificate. The locations which used were of : Mishkhab, Hera, Qadisiya, and Hurriya. Seventeen farmers with total areas (695.5 ha) in 2010, twenty farmers with total areas (911.75 ha) were inspected in 2011, Seventeen farmers with total areas(964 ha) were inspected in 2012, and thirty three farmers with total areas (1007.25 ha) were inspected in 2013. At heading stage, 10m² experimental unit was selected from each 5 hectare for certificate. The result indicated that the highest inspected area is (1007.25 ha) in 2013, and the lowest inspected area is (695.5 ha) in 2010. The highest unaccepted area is (208.75 ha) in 2012, and the lowest unaccepted area is (12.5 ha) in 2010. The result showed that there are decline in the total percentage of unaccepted areas in 2013 comparison with year 2012 which reached (83.84%) . | ||
