Abstract | ||
The effect of texturing on the characteristics of laboratory made single crystal silicon solar cell is presented. I-V and C-V characteristics, spectral responsivity and conversion efficiency were measured after etching the samples with KOH for 25 minutes. 29% efficiency increase of the textured cell was obtained and the spectral responsivity measurements demonstrated a blue-shift in the peak response. The large increase in photocurrent indicated the influence of trapping effect in which effective absorption coefficient is significantly increased at higher levels of illumination. | ||
