| Abstract | ||
| Astudy was carried out to evaluate the pathogenicity of the fungus , Beauveria bassiana, at the concentra 1 x 106 and 1 x 104 spores /ml, as a biocontrol agent of the sugar beet worm , Spodoptera exigua ,. Laboratory results revealed that egg hatching rate at the age of 1- 2was 9. 2 and 8.6 % after 4 days from treatment. The mortality rate of the larval stages (2,4 ,6) instars was 100% after 14 days from application. When pupae were treated with the fungus adult emergence rate was 44 and 56.3 % after 15 days from application . Results of green house experiments showed that the mortality rate for 2, 4 ,6 larval instars of the insect were 96.7,92.3 ,95.6 ,90.3 and 100,88.6 ,100,87.3 and 85.3 ,80.3 ,85.6 ,80.1 % for the soil and plant treatments with two concentration respectively after 14 days from application. | ||
