Abstract | ||
Five sites have been chosen for collected plant samples, four sites in Mosul city and the 5th Site from Baashiqa town (as control ), plant samples (leaves & branches) were collected (with two replications seasonally) for one year, and six plant species have chosen which distributed in the study area: Myrtus communis L، Ricinus communis، Nerium oleander،Olea europaea ، Eucalyptus camaldulensis ،Citrus spp. chemical analysis for the sample were done, determination of Pb element with Atomic absorption spectrophotometer according to international methods. Results reveled high concentration of Pb in studied leaves compared with branches for all studied areas, visa versa, significant increases (P 0,01) of Pb conc. in plants growing at the high traffic transport and population in relation to control, like Mosul city center which reached in leaves and branches of Olea europaea to (54 , 30) ug/gm dry weight respectively, also, these results gives a simple picture for the ability of some plants for Pb intake and accumulated in its tissues when it grown in polluted areas. | ||
