Abstract | ||
After their conquering Egypt, the Fatimians realized the necessity to assign one of the highest statesmen to be their supporter in running and managing the state's affairs. Hence, they assigned ministers for this purpose. It is noticeable that at the beginning, the Fatimian caliphs controlled their ministers but with the passage of time the ministers' influence began to increase. Since the era of Badr al-Jamali, the minister who was called for from the city of Aka by al-Mustansir (425-487 hegira / 1035-1094 A.D.) and who is considered the first military minister, the ministers became influential in the state's affairs up to the end of the Fatimi State. Among these ministers was Tala' bin Ruzai'ik who was a minister for the caliph al-Fa'iz (549-555 hegira / 1154-1160 A.D.). Tala' is considered the last strong minister whose murder initiated in the Fatimi reign the conflicts among the ministers which end in (567 hegira / 1171 A.D.).
