Abstract | ||
Mesopotamians had excelled in many fields of study. They had surpassed others in inventing numerous cultural products which improved man's life. Among the inventions made by the Mesopotamians are the economic methods which influenced the economic life of the ancient world. They put a lot of items that were related to economics in the laws they legislated. This research attempts to identify the effect of the Mesopotamians in inventing and developing money depending on the legal items established in Mesopotamia at the time. Their invention of the monetary system is one of the most important achievements. In the commercial exchange, man used various means such as bartering in its different forms. But the invention of money is considered the convenient means that meets his needs so he monetized coins for this purpose made of brass, silver or gold | ||
