Abstract | ||
This study was carried out on Al-Rashedia Station Farms, Depart. of Agricultural Researches, Nineveh Province. Thirty Awassi ewes at 2-3 years of ages and weighting 55±3 kg. were chosen randomly from sheep flock, ewes were divided into three groups, each of 10 ewes. The first group was fed on the basal ration, while the second and third groups were fed on basal ration supplemented with either 0.5g. of garlic powder or 0.5 ml of garlic oil / ewe / day, respectively, during the mating season. At the end of mating season blood samples were collected from Jugglers vein for all ewes. The results indicated that garlic powder and garlic oil had no significant effect on total protein, albumin, globulin, urea, glucose, ALT, AST and percentages of calcium, phosphors, sodium, chlorine, magnesium and potassium, while the ALP, cholesterol and triglyceride concentration were decreased significantly (P≤0.05) in blood serum of ewes in the 2nd and 3rd groups, respectively | ||
