Abstract | ||
The research aimed at identifying training needs for agricultural emp-loyees generally in the field of integrated pest management in Kirkuk governorate, training needs in each of the axes of integrated pest management and determine the relationship between the training needs of agricultural employees and some independent variables. To achieve the objectives of research a questionnaire has been prepared in the light of the literature, and specialists expert opinions. The questionnaire consisted of two parts, The first part included the independent variables, The second part included a training need measurement in the field of integrated pest management, Consisted of 56 items distributed on 7 axes: 1. general principles 2. agricultural methods control 3. physical control 4. Biological control 5. Genetic methods control 6. legislative control 7. chemical control and the inhibitory substances for Proliferation . The maximum measurement degree was (168), while the minimum degree was (zero). The data were collected in july and august / 2012 by interview with 40% of using a proportionate stratified sample consisted of 122 agricultural employees, The research results showed that the average scores for the training needs of all respondents in the field of integrated pest management was 120.16 degree, and 60.7% of the respondents training needs of high level, as the results showed that there were a great needs of respondents In each of the axes of integrated pest management. It has been shown through the results existence a significant correlation at the level of 0.01 between the training needs of the respondents and the independent variables (age, years of service in the agricultural sector, participation in training courses in the field of integrated pest management, exposure to agricultural information sources) and non significant correlation between the training needs and academic achievement. The most important recommen- dation in this respect is to meet the training needs for agricultural employees in the field of integrated pest management through the preparation and implementation intensive training programs and superviced by ministry of agriculture. | ||
