ABSTRACT This study deals with argumentation as an art of convincing in Imam Al-Hussein’s speeches. This implies the devices used by Al- Hussein to convince the audience of what he presents and consequentely to change their minds towards reformation. Additionally, this includes the rhetoric of diction and aesthetics for influence and convincing. The study covers different types of argumentation such as standard discourse, antanomy, transitivity, definiteness, quotation by evidence or proverb and many others. The aim behind this all is to reveal the fact that such argumentations have nothing to influence the dead audience who fought against Al- Hussein although he knew this result very well right from the very beginning, yet he hoped to issue the right word and play the messenger’s role . | ||
