Abstract | ||
The study aims at finding the degree of change in the attitudes and the social factors that affect on English language teaching in the late recent years (i.e. after 2003 ) .The other aim is the application of Holme's scale (2008) of the sociolinguistics factors surrounding Iraqi students after 2003 to show sociolinguistics functions and attitudes on the level of , culture , language , religion , society , class, occupational dialect and geography. It is hypothesized that: (1) There is a significant effect in the change of teaching and learning English language after 2003 (2) there will be differences in the ratings made by the male and the female respondents as the two sexes in the Iraqi society are assigned different roles,.(3)there is change in the attitudes toward learning English language after 2003. This study will be limited to: (a) Social Factors of English language learning and teaching : status , formality , referential function and affective function .(b) Fourth year students in the English Department / College of Education/ Tikrit university / during the academic year 2012-2013. The procedures adopted in this study are : The adopted social factor scale of Holme's (2000) that will be used to analyze the students corpus of speech , A questionnaire will be constructed to find out the EFL learners attitudes toward learning the American English and the American culture, and data will be analyzed statistically and recommendation will be drawn. | ||
