Mongol Crusader alliance against the Islamic world (651-722 AH / 12,531,322) Assistant Professor Dr. Abbas Abdul Sattar, Abdul Qadir Zahawi Girls College of Education University of Baghdad (Abstract Research) The Crusade-Mongol alliance against the Islamic World represents one of the most serious issues ever experienced by the Islamic World and the challenges ever faced by the Muslims during the Middle Ages. Having failed to win victory over Muslims when the Crusaders were about to withdraw and declare defeat, there appeared a force coming from the east sweeping the old world as vehemently as floods. It was also clear from the diplomatic alliance between the Crusaders of Asia and Europe that the Armenian-Mongol alliance was the most successful at the diplomatic representation, when the King Het'um who was known for his shrewdness and foresight went personally to Mongke Khan, the Great Khan, who promised to keep his kingdom independent and safe when the Mongols come and to wage a joint campaign against the Muslims and eradicate them. The French-Mongol diplomatic alliance, however, was not stable. In spite of exchanging missions between the Mongols and Louis IX, the Mongols did not give up their conditions to keep Louis IX as a subject, a condition which Louis IX refused. | ||
