Abstract | ||
The northern part of Iraq is characterized with a mountainous nature which is undulant in its surface in comparison to the rest of the parts in Iraq, and that makes the role of the climate stations in measuring the various climate elements less accurate, because of the small number of these stations and because they are located in topographic parts with different elevations. Moreover, the elements which influence the climate haven't been taken into consideration in their specific locations in that area such as; the direction of the wind, atmospheric depressions, air masses and terrains and others. All this requires to reconsider the planning of the standards of their current specific locations and selecting additional sites by using the cultural map of the north of Iraq and the applications related to the GIS represented by Global Mapper and ArC GIS ver. 9.2. | ||
