Effect of using Alphamune as Immune enhancer on Lipid profile of Quails | ||

| Abstract | ||
| This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Alphamune in the diet comparing with vitamins on blood lipid profile of Quails. One hundred and eighty (180) 1-day old unsexed quails were used for 46 days, commercial quails were randomly distributed as 45 birds in each of four groups.The birds were fed with starter mash which contained crude protein 24% and metabolizable energy 2950 Kcal / kg up to 25 day of age. For the next 3 weeks of age with finisher mash which contained crude protein 22% and metabolizable energy 3020 Kcal/ kg. Group G1 (control group) was fed standard broiler mash. Group G2 was fed Broiler mash with Vitamin A was added at 8500 IU/ kg, Vitamin C at 500 mg/ kg and Vitamin E at 300 mg/ kg of feed. Group G3 was given Broiler mash feed with Alphamune (containing Beta glucan) at 0.5 gm/ kg of feed and group G4 was provided Broiler mash with Alphamune at 1 gm/ kg of feed. Blood samples were collected at 25, 35 and 45-day-old. At the end of experiment the results of blood lipid profile of quails showed that Mean total cholesterol was lower in G2,G3 and G4 groups when compared to G1 but it was not significant. Serum triglyceride and VLDL level was significantly higher in G2, G3 groups (P < 0.05) than G1, while G3 showed higher HDL level than other groups but it was not significant, However there was no significant difference in LDL concentration between four groups | ||
