Abstract | ||
This study was conducted by using 24 Awassi ewes chosen randomly from sheep flock at Al-Rasheida station, Mosul, at same ages (3-4 years) and weights 51±3 kg. The ewes were divided into three equal groups. These groups were fed on three rations containing same crude protein (14.6%) and metabolizable energy (2796 Kcal /kg); but different Fenugreek seeds percentage (0, 6 and 12%) for ninety days after parturition. The effects of using different percentages of Fenugreek seeds were studied on milk yield and chemical composition milk and some biochemical parameters (concentration of total protein, glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol and liver enzymes ALT, AST) in blood serum, The results indicated that daily milk, total milk production, protein percentage, total serum protein and liver enzymes ALT, AST increased significantly (P<0.05). On the contrary decreased significantly (P<0.05) milk fat, milk cholesterol and cholesterol serum blood by increasing the percentage of Fenugreek seeds in ration. It concluded that using fenugreek seeds in ratio has significantly increase milk yield as compared do not received fenugreek seeds | ||
