Abstract | ||
The study included collection of blood samples from 100 aborted women and 50 non-aborted women attended Tikrit teaching hospital from 1/10/2009 to 30/5/2010. Latex agglutination test (Latex) was used to determine the infection with Toxoplasmosis and ELSIA-IgM , ELISA-Ig6 for differentiating the acute , chronic infection . The effects of infection on the activity of liver enzyme (transaminases) GOT , GPT and alkaline phosphatase were investigated. The study showed that the total percentage of infection between aborted women by Latex test is 42% , the result of ELISA IgM and ELISA Ig6 showed 24% and 18% acute and chronic infection respectively. The corresponding percentage of naturally delivered women are 41%. 13% , 21% . The percentage of congenital inftion. Is 7%.The results of relationship between toxoplasmosis and the transaminases GOT, GPT, ALP showed significant increase in the activity of GOT in both acute and chronic infection of both aborted and non-aborted women in comparison to control , where as a significant increase of GPT in acute infection of both aborted and non-aborted women. A significant increase of ALP activity is recorded in both acute and chronic infection in aborted women and in chronic infection only of non-aborted women | ||
