Abstract | ||
This study was carried out in the agricultural technical college of Halabja during the growing season (2010-2011) in the ordinary room condition. Pomegranate fruits of Salakhani cv. were taken from one of the orchards of Halabja province, As Sulaymaniyah governorate, to investigate the effect of container type and temperature on the storability of pomegranate fruits. At the end of storage period, the results showed that the usage of plastic containers caused increases in the percentages of arils weight, weight loss, %T.S.S. and %T.A. and a significant decrease of damage percentage. While regarding heat treatments, the use of 50˚C caused decreases in the percentages of damage and weight loss in the end of storage period. At the same time, it caused increases in the percentages of skin, T.S.S. and T.A. cardboard packages had a significant on the decrease of weight loss. | ||
