A field experiment was carried out at Abu-Ghraib research during the station spring seasons of 2005 and 2006 on rows using potato tuber c.v Desiree to study the effect of three dates of Vines removal after final irrigation which were (4, 8 and 10 Days) combined with three dates to lifting tubers (Direct, 4 and 6 days) after vines removal. Treatments were distributed in experiment with three replicates in Randomized Complete Block Design (R.C.B.D). The result showed that there were no significant effect of vines removed on the number of tubers/plant, but increased significantly tubers weight when delaying the dates of vines removal and date of lifting tubers. In addition to that a marketable yield, total yield of middle and large size tubers for both seasons were increased. Delay vines removal ten days from final irrigation gave 8.48 Ton/Donum while delay the dates 4 and 8 days gave 7.26, 7.52 Ton/Donum. Lowest percentage of skinned tubers was found with delay the dates of vines removal and lifting tubers which were 48.41, 48.50% in both seasons. In addition, the dry matter percentage of tubers increased in both seasons respectively. | ||
