Abstract | ||
An experiment was conducted in the experimental field of the Technical Institute / Al-Musaib , during spring season of 2004 and 2005, which include 12 treatments using two cultivars ( Hafth nafsa and Ananas hybrid ) , two treatments of pinching , with and without pinching and three treatments of soil mulching (without mulching , mulching with white and mulching with black plastic). Split – Split plot according to RCBD was used with three replicates. Results indiected that dry weight of weeds grown increased significantly when Ananas hybrid cultivated without pinching or without soil mulching. The soil moisture content before 2 days of irrigation was higher for Hafth nafsa cv., pinching treatment and soil mulching. Results also indicates that leaf number , leaf area , stem and leaf dry weight of Hafth nafsa were surpass other cultivar. While pinching and black plastic mulching showed increment in the mean of studied characters significantly. On the other hand Ananas cv. gave higher fruit weight, dry matter ,early yield by33.58% and total yield by 26.46% as compared with other cv. Pinching was found to increase fruit dry matter and reduce fruit weight and early yield by21.14%. Black plastic mulching gave an elevation of all studied characters, the early and total yield were 2.04 ,7.48 ton / donum. Interaction between the three factors had significant effect on all vegetative and fruiting characters. | ||
