Abstract | ||
Effect of sowing Dates and phosphorus fertilizer on growth , Grain yield and composite of pearl millet The experiment was conducted during autumn 2007 in one of fields of Abu-Ghraib-Baghdad, to investigate the response of pearl millet to different levels of phosphorus and different dates of sowing , A split plot arrangement in randomized complete block design with three replication was used . The treatments Were three Date of sowing ( A1 , A2 , and A3 ) and four levels of phosphorus ( p0 ,p50 , p60 and p70 Kg/ha ) . Significant differences were found among sowing dates and phosphorus levels and their interactions The treatment planting date ( 1/8 ) was superior in plant Height ( 211.32 cm ) , leaf area ( 96 . 44cm2 ), No. of seeds(1411.7) , weight 1000 of grain ( 3 . 972gm ) and grains yield ( 5.299 tan / ha ) . the treatment ( p60 ) 60 Kg / ha Phosphorus was superior in No. of seeds(1588.3) , Weight of 1000 grain ( 4 . 042gm ) , grains yield ( 5.348 tan / ha ) and percentage of protein ( 18 . 8 % ) . The No. of seed and higher grain yield were produced from the interaction between second date with 60 Kg P / hg . | ||
