Abstract | ||
The objective of this study was to estimate the monthly reference evapotranspiration using pan evaporation class A in Mosul , which located in the north of Iraq .The monthly reference evapotranspiration (ETo) was estimated by monthly average evaporation class A (EPan) for the period (1971-2000) multiplied by a pan coefficient (Kp) which was determined by Pereira et al (1995) equation . ETo was also calculated by the proposed equation of Al-Aani et al (2009) based on evaporation from class A pan. The calculated ETo by the two equations was plotted to compared with monthly evaporation from class A (EPan). The results showed that calculated ETo by Al-Aani et al was minimal. It also showed that ETo was minimal in December (0.78 mm/day) and maximal in July (10.44 mm/day) by Pereira et al , however ETo was minimal in December (0.76 mm/day) and maximal in July (7.09 mm/day) by Al-Aani et al . The pan coefficient was varied from 0.736 to 0.801 by Pereira et al and varied from 0.533 to 0.752 by Al-Aani et al . | ||
