Abstract | ||
Objective :To define the relationship between margin of clearance at sites of excision and the recurrence rate of basal cell carcinoma in head and neck region Methods: This study was conducted on 65 patients in Al-Diwanyia teaching hospital who underwent surgery for basal cell carcinoma in the head neck region between 2007 and 2008 and followed up for a period of 3 years .The patients were evaluated according :site and type of Bcc ,whether or not the excision was complete ,tumor recurrence , gender and age of the patients . The size of tumor was less than 2cm in all patients Conclusion: a risk of recurrence in incompletely excised basal cell carcinoma was more common in younger age group patients and we recommend close clinical follow up for other patients . | ||
