Abstract | ||
Abstract : This study was conducted in five tomato's farms in desert region in Najaf province to find the alternative hosts of South American tomato moth Tuta absoluta in addition to study the relation between this insect and other arthropods that infected tomato plants and effect on parasitism of insect. Results showed that broad bean, cowpea and wild radish were new alternative hosts of T.absoluta that recorded to the first time in Iraq and World, in addition to eggplants and tomato. The highest percent of infection was recorded in favorite host (tomato plants). The study also showed that there was significant relation between the infection of white flies and T.absoluta and recorded that the increasing of tomato infection with white fly leaded to decreased the infestation with T.absoluta. The same case happened with infection of tomato plant with dust mites. | ||
