The French ambition in Tunisia dates back so long that the French king Luis the xl led a military Compaign to occupy Tunisia in 1270 but it was invain . France acquired a great deal of privileges from Ottman empire in February 1536 then it was able to impose an agreement on Tunisia in 1685 by which France has privilege to Control the other countries . After French Coloniakism to Algeria in 1830, French started to pay great attention to Tunisia which was considered as an extension to Algeria From the eastern front thus France started to fabricate pretexts to occupy Tunisia . And the disputes on the French- Algeria boundaries gave France the ground to mass its military forces to invade Tunisian lands . The Tunisian ruler asked the French government to solve the boundaries problerns cordially and to punish the riots but France refused that consequently the Tunisian ruler telegramed the ottman government to interfere to settle the dispute . The Ottman diplomacy took its role in asking the government through their embassadors in the capitals of Eurepean countries to recognize their governments attitudes but it was all in vain, the way which encouraged the French government to give its order to its forces to enter Tunisian land and to impose garrison freaty on the Tunisian ruler in may 12th 1881 . | ||
