Abstract: The objective of this study was performed to extract the phenolic compounds from eucalyptus leaves, and to shed a light on their activity against oxidative stress and examine the hypoglycemic effect of the extract in vivo in females’ rabbits diabetic. Analytical study included extraction and identification of some phenolic compounds in eucalyptus. UV_VIS spectrophotometry and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) that the eucalyptus containing of catechin and phenolic acids. Clinical comparative in vitro studies for rabbits with diabetes included:- I. Serum glucose level was appear significantly elevated in alloxan induced diabetic rabbits compared with normal rabbits, The level of serum glucose decreased significantly After 7 days of treatment with extracts. II. This study illustrated significant elevation in malondialdehyde (MDA), lipid peroxdation marker in all diabetes animals compared to normal animals. The levels of serum (MDA) decreased significantly after treatment with (100mg/kg body weight) phenolic compounds extract. | ||
