ABSTRACT: Five Sun flower genotypes: Iraq flower, Euro Flore, Peredovik, Flamme and Coban (F3) were getting from selfing used in this study, and half diallel crosses (excluded reciprocals) carried out among them. Parents and crosses were planted using Randomized Complete Block Deign with three replications through spring season of 2011. Data were collected for Total Cholorofeel , number of seed, grains weight/ear . The results showed that the mean square of genotype, general and specific combining abilities was highly significant for all characters. The Coban and Iraq flower showed significant desirable general combining ability for most characters. The hybrid (P×F) shown as a good specific combiner for all characters and hybrid (I×E) and (E×C) for three characters. The both hybrids (I×E) and (P×F) were superior than others for heterosis for all characters. The additive gene variance was more than dominance gene variance one for all characters, The additive gene action was more important in the control of the inheritance of all characters. The broad and narrow sense heritability which appeared high for all characters. The genetic advance from selection (as percent of character mean) was low for all characters. | ||
