Abstract: This experiment was carried out in the poultry farm at the Technical college Al-Mussaiab,Babylon province to investigate the comparassion between effect of uropygealectomy with addition of 0.3% minced garlic on some productive traits of Turkish Ross broiler chickens. Atotal of 180, one day old chicks, 40gm/chick body weight were used in the experi- ment, those chickens were allocated randomly in to 4 treatments ,each treatment included 3replicate (15chicks in each replicate) and fed on astandard deit which contained 0.3% minced garlic for the second and fourth treatments respectively for 4days per a week where as ,the remaining days of the week were left on the ordinary deit (without addition of garlic). Uropygealectomy were applied for chickens in the third and fourth treatment and the first treatment was left with out addition of garlic and non uropygealectomized . In 4 periods (1-14days), (14-28days), (28-42days) and (1-42days)the total weight gain and daily gain, feed consumption and feed convertion efficiency was calculated, for dressing and carcass cuts percentages and the productive index at the end of the experiment. Results showed high significant differences in daily and total weight gain for each period ,feed consumption and ahigh significant reduction of feed efficiency to that treatments which included addition of garlic and uropygealectomy with competability between them in comparassion with the control treatment, the results indicated also high significant differences in dressing percentage and pectoral cut percentage and productive index with high significant reduction in back cut for all treatment which included addition of garlic and uropygealectomy with competability between them mean while, the differences were non significant for that of the thight cuts as well as the edible offals (liver, heart and gizzard) , wings, neck in comparassion with the control treatment . | ||
