Abstract | ||
This research tackles the inversion of values in Andalusia. The inversion is shown in three sections: satirizing humanity, giving forbidden poetic legal opinion, and glorifying depravity. In the first section, we study the poetry that depreciates the value of man and put him in a level equal to animal or less than it. It classifies man in two groups possessing ignoble traits. This contributed to the rise of a dangerous phenomenon, burying women alive. The second section collects poetic legal opinions issued by the Muslim legal jurists in Andalusia that helped negative values to spread in society and acquire a prohibiting trait. The third section discloses the glorification of depravities like stinginess, adultery and sluggishness. The final result of the inversion of values in Andalusia is that it led to weakening the veneration of Islam in the hearts of people. | ||
