Abstract | ||
In general, the conception of the image represents eloquence. It is the instrument and mirror of the three patterns of eloquence: simile, metaphor and metonymy. Moreover, authors create images from real life far away from imagination. This leads to a diversity in the artistic image, so you can find rhetorical image, intellectual image, confirmatory image and sensuous image. Therefore, the latter is considered partial and individual in the text, and it limits the expression that evokes the reader's feeling, so we find the image associated with what is seen, heard, smelled, touched and tasted. This research studies the modern poet Fahad Al'askar's sensuous artistic image. The poet is born in 1917, and lived an isolated life full of intellectual contradictions and renewed visions. This occurred in reaction to the radical social, economical and political revolution in Kuwait after the oil revolution. This has a great influence on the poet's instruments, his style and meanings. Therefore, the research tries to identify the features of the artistic sensuous image in the poetry of Fahad Al'askar. It shows how he makes use of the patterns of the image, and how he adds to that image through his style and poetic talent. | ||
