Abstract | ||
This study was conducted in a private herd in Al-Shatra/Thi-Qar province .It was done to study the effect of adding (0, 3, 5, 7) mg Cu/kg dry matter (DM) to a basal diet contain 5.08 mg Cu/kg DM on Arabi lambs performance. Sixteen weaned lambs were used with a mean age of 3 months and weight of 18.80 kg . The result indicated that there was lack of significance due to different levels of copper on digestion coefficients of dry matter. There were significant improvement in body weight and growth rate with the increase of copper levels in the diet. Animals received 5 mg copper/kg dry matter showed the highest body weight and growth rate during all periods. Consumption of feed dry matter protein and energy did not influence by different level of copper in the diet through all study periods . There were significant improvements in feed conversion ratio especially of the group received 5 mg/kg D.M from the week sixth till the end of the study. Their feed conversion ratios were 4.67, 6.34 and 9.31, feed/kg growth rate during the period 4-9, 6-8 and 8-10 weeks . | ||
