Abstract | ||
The present study was consider the effect of salt front on fishe assemblage in Shatt Al-Basrah canal during period from June 2008 to June 2009.Two stations in north of canal were chosen ,the first station 47º 46ﹶ 36.13ﹰ East 30º 24ﹶ 24.95ﹰNorth, behind bridge and the second 47º 45ﹶ 44.96ﹰ East 30º 26ﹶ Al-Zubair bridge. A total of 56 species were recorded in the two station, Included 38 marine species and 18 freshwater species, One freshwater species found in first station was Mastacembelus mastacembelus , and found 38 species Included 25 freshwater specimens and 13 marine specimens in second station. A total of 11183 specimens were catch in two stations , involve was 10211 marine specimens and 972 freshwater specimens. statistic analysis showed Significant differences and positive correlation coefficient (r) between temperature and salinity values in first station which reached 0.387, while Significant differences and positive correlation coefficient in second station which reached 0.814. Canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) was measured for relationships between environment factors and fishes. | ||
