Abstract | ||
A total of 236 clinical specimens from patients in the consultant of the ( E. N. T. ) in the General Teaching Hospital, Al- Diwaniya province were collected during the period from September to May, to detect opportunistic molds and yeasts which caused this infection. The age of patients ranged from 6 months to 70 years. Results showed that 210 specimens ( 88.98 % ) were recorded as (CSOM) infections. It was found that 17 species belonging to 7 genera appeared in 308 strains distributed between 146 from females and 162 from males. Aspergillus was the predominant genus, which is found in 184 specimens (59.74 %) and followed by the genus Candida in 42 specimens ( 13.64 % ) , and other genera on a lesser scale. | ||
