Abstract | ||
Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are classes of single membrane-spanning non-catalytic receptors that structurally recognize a molecules which is derived from microbes once these microbes have breached physical barriers such as the skin or the intestinal tract mucosa and activated the immune cell response . TLR9 expression on B cells have been estimated for 54 of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) patients, 30 Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients compared to 30 Healthy Control(HC) by immunofluorescence using monoclonal anti-CD289 FITC labeled protein against human TLR9.The study showed that B cell expression of TLR9 was higher among SLE patients than RA patients and healthy control groups with means of frequency positivity (34.8 , 31.1 and 26.7 respectively) and p =0.02 . | ||
