ABSTRACT This paper deals with the image of women in Tennessee Williams's A Streetcar Named Desire which has not been tackled or given special attention by researchers. It concentrates on Williams as a feminist writer and his presentation of women as victims especially in this play. It presents an analysis of the female characters in this play and their negative relationships with men. It also shows the playwright's sympathy with women and their problems as they live in a materialistic male-dominated society. | ||
